Our Instructor
Heather is a graduate of DC Everest High School and has been a dance instructor since 2009. She specializes in teaching both social and competitive dancers, embracing the creative and challenging elements of dance. Passionate about sharing her love for the art form, she welcomes students of all ages and skill levels.

Heather is a graduate of DC Everest High School and has been a dance instructor since 2009. She specializes in teaching both social and competitive dancers, embracing the creative and challenging elements of dance. Passionate about sharing her love for the art form, she welcomes students of all ages and skill levels.
A former professional competitor in American Smooth and Rhythm styles, Heather also partners with her students in American Smooth, Rhythm, and International Standard events. She has earned Top Female Teacher Awards at NDCA Dancesport competitions and has mentored numerous award-winning students.
Heather was also invited to contribute to The Dance of Resilience: Transforming Lives and Staying Vibrant Through Partner Dance by Ember Reichgott Junge. The book explores the transformative power of partner dance, including non-traditional partnerships that break through barriers of gender, culture, and convention to foster resilience, connection, and personal growth. In it, Heather is featured as an instructor in a same-sex dance partnership—dancing with her student and colleague Sarah Merz as “The Girls in Blue.” This highlights how such innovative collaborations challenge traditional ballroom norms while building confidence, trust, and vitality for dancers involved.
Outside the studio, Heather enjoys outdoor sports and reading. She is often accompanied by her dog, Mozzie, who is a frequent and beloved visitor at the studio.
